22nd Apr 2023 Min. 19 Black-necked Grebe counted
18th Apr 2023 14 to 16 grebes were counted on No.3 bed keeping a low profile with others likely in cover on nests.
06th Apr 2023 a count of 15 grebes was recorded from a watch of No.3 & 4 beds

30th Jun 2022 - 4 adults and 11 juveniles counted.
28th Jun 2022 - 4 adult and 18 well grown juveniles counted today with the juveniles massing and joining together in low flights across the water in readiness for leaving.
25th Jun 2022 - A notable drop in Black-necked Grebe numbers today, in cooler conditions a count of 5 adult and 12 juveniles were recorded
21st Jun 2022 - 44 Black-necked Grebe counted, 15 adult and 29 juvenile, today
18th Jun 2022 - 54 Black-necked Grebe counted today, 28 adult and 26 juveniles also our 18th confirmed brood, that’s 39 young in total so far and 26 of these present today.
16th Jun 2022 - 51 Black-necked Grebe, 26 adult and 25 juvenile counted today
14th Jun 2022 - 38 Black-necked Grebe, 19 adults and 19 juveniles counted today plus signs of renewed adult display suggesting second breeding attempts.
11th Jun 2022 - the 17th brood of Black-necked Grebe confirmed. That’s 34 adult and 38 young this breeding season with 36 birds, 18 adults and 18 juveniles counted today
28th May 2022 - now 16 broods of Black-necked Grebe counted.
26th May 2022 - confirmed broods of Black-necked Grebe rose to 15 today with a minimum of 32 young counted
24th May 2022 - at least 12 broods of Black-necked Grebe observed Today
21st May 2022 - at least 7 pair of Black-necked Grebe now feeding young and other adults ‘guarding’ visible
17th May 2022 - at least 4 broods of Black-necked Grebe reported
16th May 2022 - looks like our first broods of Black-necked Grebe are out with two, possibly three, broods reported through the day
04th May 2022 - Plenty of Black-necked Grebe visible in open water and in cleared rides through the reedbed, just waiting for sighting of the first brood anytime now?
26th Apr 2022 - up to 21 Black-necked Grebe have been seen in open water yesterday and today and quite a few more would be hidden in the vegetation at this time
14th Apr 2022 - overnight influx of Black-necked Grebe, a morning count produced at least 29 individuals, with hopefully some females staying in cover
02nd Apr 2022 - our highest count of the spring with 28 Black-necked Grebe, 18 on No3 bed and 10 on No,4 bed
31st Mar 2022 - Black-necked Grebe count of 23 split between No3 bed (13) and No4 bed (10)
26th Mar 2022 - 25 Black-necked Grebe, 14 No4 bed, 11 No3 bed.
24th Mar 2022 - count now 21 individuals, 14 on No4 Bed & 7 on No3 bed
22nd Mar 2022 - a count today recorded 18 Black-necked Grebe across No3 & 4 beds
19th Mar 2022 - 9 Black-necked Grebe on No4 bed, only 3 reported from No3 bed
17th Mar 2022 - 4 Black-necked Grebe on No4 bed and at least 9 on No3 bed
13th Mar 2022 - 5 Grebe on No4 bed and 4 on No3 bed
10th Mar 2022 - The 5 Grebe remain split on No4 & No3 bed but two other individuals have been identified but not relocated
8th Mar 2022 - No new grebes have been reported but the 5 or 6 sighted remain split between No3 & 4 beds.
05 Mar 2022 - Our first returning Black Necked Grebes have arrived today. Three birds are on No3 bed and three on No4 bed.

09 Sep 2021 - Adult Black Necked Grebe still present on No4 bed. This is the latest staying bird since one on 14th October 2007 which was an injured bird.
03 Sep 2021 - Adult Black Necked Grebe still on No4 bed body moult almost complete but still has yellow ear coverts
