Rnging on No1 bed on Tuesday and Thursday, catching 34 birds, with 16 new including a Goldcrest, 2 Willow Tits and 3 Lesser Redpolls, Sightings on the bed included 9 Redwings, 5 Chiffchaffs and 2 Siskins.
On No3 bed, ringing took place on Wednesday and Saturday, catching a total of 35 birds, including there first 4 Chiffchaffs of the year, which included a retrap from 2011, other new birds included a Goldcrest with a fat score of 3 which was clearly passing through, a Lesser Redpoll and the first Blackcap of the year, which was also carrying some fat, and may have been a wintering bird moving through. Sightings on the bed included 9 Black-necked Grebes, 1 Bittern, a pair of Marsh Hariers, 20 roosting Pied Wagtails, 2 Snipe, 1 Curlew, 1 Redshank, 8 singing Chiffchaffs and six Lesser Redpolls.

Ringing was restricted to No3 Bed this week with 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Blue Tit, 3 Great Tit, 1 Chaffinch, 5 Greenfinch and a good tally of 5 Bullfinches.
